Are you sick of rap/metal? Do you like melody in your rock and roll? Do you like to have a good time?
We thought so.
You’re the perfect Somnia fan.
Let’s get the introductions out of the way --- Somnia is 4 guys from St. Louis, MO (Mike Heeley - guitar, Mike Lowder - drums, Aaron Popp - bass and vocals, Jack Walker guitar) who play original rock and roll music. Sure, some might call it pop/rock, some may say it’s got a bit of a pop/punk feel to it, but we all know that it’s really just rock and roll.
Anyway, back to you.
If you're sick of listening to the same kind of song (boring and brooding), sung by the same kind of band (also boring and brooding), give Somnia a try. Their live show is always a great time because you can tell these guys enjoy playing music. Aside from having tons of energy on stage, their songs also pack quite a punch.
After just one spin of a Somnia CD,
you’ll be hard pressed to get their melodies out of your head.
And many have already joined the Somnia army. After being together 4 years, the boys have accomplished a lot. In late 2002, St. Louis radio station WVRV 101.1 put Somnia’s song “Hello Something” in rotation no small feat for an unsigned band. Somnia has also opened for rock and roll bands from across the musical spectrum, from Everlast to Better Than Ezra, Lisa Loeb to Lifehouse……Somnia has even opened for Jackyl. Yes, that Jackyl.
Somnia’s release, 2002’s “The Rock E.P.” has gotten rave reviews from local St. Louis and national press alike. Recently, the Somnia boys have released their latest EP, "Love and Other Problems" and are planning a tour around it.
