
The eclectic music of
CORE PROjECT is an amalgamation of heavy hip-hop beats,
syncopated funk rhythms, and jazzy blues riffs fused with
raw urban poetry. Influenced by a wide spectrum of artists,
this original organic sound, created through the brotherhood
shared by all seven members consisting of two emcees, Stek-Wik
(Stephen Stecher) and Kammasutra (Justin Maginn), a full
rhythm section including, T- Mills (Todd Miller, bass),
Ton'Def (Tony Barbata, drums), HeistBone (M. Got, turntables),
C-Rock (Chris Taggart, guitar) and Fingaz, (Nate Hershey,
keys), generate an extremely unique atmosphere enveloped
in feelings of positivity.
Echoing the true spirit and essence
of hip-hop culture, their message is heard loud and clear
through the music: unity through understanding. Free speech,
freedom of expression, and equality are among the many tenets
that form the foundation of the group's mission statement:
"We think big and have been granted the wish to live
life in unison, as one, the core, layered with love, talent,
and respect."
Quickly emerging from the Midwest circuit,
this St. Louis-based group is gaining momentum and attention
with its unique mixture of live Hip-Hop and acid jazz. Delivering
energetic and inspired performances in venues of sll shapes
and sizes, CORE PROjECT offers an organic, fresh approach
to modern rock and funk with its raw intensity and positive
message.
Having opened for such international
acts as: Ja Rule, Jurassic 5, Black Eyed Peas, Nappy Roots,
The Crystal Method, Kid Koala, Prime STH, Abyss, The Urge,
and a tour with Nelly and the St. Lunatics, CORE PROjECT
is rapidly becoming one of the nation’s hottest bands,
playing for audiences across the country.
Released on the indie label East County
Records, their first LP, UNITED, sold out in less than six
months, leaving fans hungry for the highly-anticipated second
release, FLUID FORWARD MOTION.
Exposing the world to their music while
remaining true to their eclectic roots is the focal point
